Api: A warm beverage made from corn powder

Api is a sweet and thick corn drink and is consumed in Bolivia for breakfast. It is mostly enjoyed, especially when it is very cold. The mixture of the reddish Api Morado with the light Api Blanco is very popular.
Api is often offered at markets together with "Buñuelos" or "Pastel".

Preparation of Api Blanco

Preparation (for 40 g): Dissolve the contents in a cup of cold water. Add three cups of cold water, then add three cups of boiling water, 2 sticks of cinnamon, and 2 cloves. Let it boil for 10 minutes while stirring constantly. Season with sugar.

You can also add orange peels to refine the flavor.

Ingredients: White corn flour, cinnamon powder, clove powder, citric acid, and sugar
