Bicentennial of Bolivia
The 200th Anniversary of Bolivia's Declaration of Independence
The "Bicentenario de Bolivia" refers to the celebrations marking the 200th anniversary of Bolivia's independence, which was originally declared on August 6, 1825. The year 2025 marks this historic milestone and is a significant event in the nation's collective consciousness.

The bell of San Francisco in Sucre was rung on the morning of May 25, 1809, to gather the population and call for protest. Its sound was the signal for the start of the uprising. Since then, the bell has been a symbol of freedom and resistance against oppression. It is therefore also an important element of Bolivia's national memory culture.

What role do education, sustainability, and indigenous participation play?Cultural events, investments in public infrastructure, educational projects, and dialogue formats are planned throughout the country.
